This wide-field view of the Orion Nebula (Messier 42), lying about 1350 light-years from Earth, was taken with the VISTA infrared survey telescope at ESO’s Paranal Observatory in Chile. The new telescope’s huge field of view allows the whole nebula and its surroundings to be imaged in a single picture and its infrared vision also means that it can peer deep into the normally hidden dusty regions and reveal the curious antics of the very active young stars buried there. This image was created from images taken through Z, J and Ks filters in the near-infrared part of the spectrum. The exposure times were ten minutes per filter. The image covers a region of sky about one degree by 1.5 degrees.

From the source site, courtesy of NASA/JPL-Caltech: Generations of stars can be seen in this new infrared portrait from NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope. In this wispy star-forming region, called W5, the oldest stars can be seen as blue dots in the centers of the two hollow cavities (other blue dots are background and foreground stars not associated with the region). Younger stars line the rims of the cavities, and some can be seen as pink dots at the tips of the elephant-trunk-like pillars. The white knotty areas are where the youngest stars are forming. Red shows heated dust that pervades the region's cavities, while green highlights dense clouds. W5 spans an area of sky equivalent to four full moons and is about 6,500 light-years away in the constellation Cassiopeia. The Spitzer picture was taken over a period of 24 hours. Like other massive star-forming regions, such as Orion and Carina, W5 contains large cavities that were carved out by radiation and winds from the region's most massive stars. According to the theory of triggered star-formation, the carving out of these cavities pushes gas together, causing it to ignite into successive generations of new stars. This image contains some of the best evidence yet for the triggered star-formation theory. Scientists analyzing the photo have been able to show that the ages of the stars become progressively and systematically younger with distance from the center of the cavities. This is a three-color composite showing infrared observations from two Spitzer instruments. Blue represents 3.6-micron light and green shows light of 8 microns, both captured by Spitzer's infrared array camera. Red is 24-micron light detected by Spitzer's multiband imaging photometer.

Another Sport is Possible! Feminism, Queer and Trans in Sports.webm

The debate with Željko Blaće (Croatia), Olga Dimitrijević (Serbia), Juliet Jacques (Great Britain) and Clémence Zamora Cruz (France) will revolve around the issues of feminist, queer and transgender engagements with sports, and with the potential for possible future changes in the area. Juliet Jacques is a freelance writer who has appeared in The Guardian, The New Statesman, TimeOut, The London Review of Books, Cineaste, 3:AM and other journals. She writes on literature, film, gender, sexuality and football. Her Transgender Journey series for The Guardian was shortlisted for the Orwell Prize in 2011. She is also a co-founder of The Justin Campaign against anti-LGBTQ* prejudices in football. Olga Dimitrijević was born in Belgrade in 1984. She studied drama and received an MA in Gender Studies in Budapest. She works as a theatre critic, drama writer, and a journalist. She is the author of several staged dramas, and occasionaly lectures on film, homosexuality and female vampires. In 2012, she received the "Sterija" award for her text "Workers Die Singing". Clémence Zamora Cruz is a transfeminist activist of Mexican origin and French nationality and has worked for many years for the rights of the LGBTI community in France. She was Vice President of the Les Myriades Transs Association. Currently, she is Inter-LGBT spokesperson of transgender Affairs (Interassociative Lesbienne, Gaie, Bi et Trans is an umbrella group of more than 60 organizations in France). She is Acceptess-T spokesperson too and is part of the fight against discrimination by the Paris International Tournament (by FSGL), working on the issue of the integration of trans people. Željko Blaće works in the area of digital arts and media culture at Multimedia Institute in Zagreb (since 1999, a co-founder) and at international media art events and exhibitions. As a visual/media artist, he has organized several conferences, seminars and workshops on the ne media. He also worked as a design researcher at Jan van Eyck Academie, Maastricht. Since 2006, his research interests mostly include cumulative creativity and the queering / de-normalization of sports.

The rally was held at the morning on Sunday, 29 January 2017 at the ECS Stadium, where 188 entrants were registered with their cars and bikes/scooters manufactured from 1906 to 1975. This one day festival usually takes place on a Sunday of every January in Kolkata since 1968 with full of period costume and cultural period pieces.
